Junior Golf Clinics

Combined Beginner & Intermediate Levels - Boys and Girls
Class Size 6:1 Student / Instructor Ratio

Junior group clinics are designed for juniors ages 7 - 16 with beginner to intermediate golf skills. When daylight hours begin to increase and the temperature starts to rise, we look forward to bringing out the golf clubs. Group clinics are a great way to learn to play golf or keep up with your game and have fun too. By continually working on the most important parts of the swing, it can improve how consistent you swing a club and how well you make contact with the ball when you actually play. In this program, students will have the opportunity to work with our teaching professionals in a safe and supportive environment while improving their swing mechanics. In fact, it can be easier to work on grip, posture, turning, weight shift, wrist hinge and more while eliminating the pressures of scoring or the worry of where the ball goes on the course. Let us show you how...you will ultimately hit the ball better, farther, and more consistently and have a lot more fun when you get out on the course!

"Golf is not a sport you should practice just once a week. Those who truly want to succeed, like in every sport, receive continuous gentle tweaking of their game instead of needing to come in for an overhaul which is typically required when we see those who come just once in a blue moon. After looking back on my history of successful students who have received college scholarships or played professional golf, many of them I saw more than once a week and many of them came numerous times each week. If they traveled in from out of town where frequent visits were not possible there was often a sense of urgency to learn, change and improve. The tendency to default back to old habits will always be there. This holds true whether the student is an adult or a child. Teaming up with the parents to monitor and guide the practice has always been important in the development of a successful golfer and keeping a constant eye on things can keep the ship sailing in the right direction." - Eric MacCluen

All sessions will provide students with the opportunity to receive professional training in a fun and competitive atmosphere. Further, this program will enable both boys and girls to strengthen their short game skills around the green and build confidence on the course to become successful competitive golfers. This program is 1 hour in length and guaranteed to be both educational and loads of fun.

Sessions Feature:

  • Various drills and techniques based on the four main areas of short game: putting, chipping, pitching and sand shots.
  • New drills each week to build a library of exercises that juniors can practice on their own to continuously improve their skills.
  • Instructors to provide students with more personal attention and allow classes to run efficiently with rotating stations.

Little Linkster Playdates
Premium instruction for the youngest golfers!

Little Linkster Playdates

Beginner Level - Boys and Girls
Class Size may vary from week to week. The more participants, the merrier!

Little Linkster Playdates will focus on the youngsters of our golfers, those who are 4 yrs. old by April 1, 2023 thru 6 years of age. As the Eric MacCluen Golf logo "Instruction Fore Life" states, our mission is to offer golf instruction to all ages. Most often, if we start kids at a young age in a positive and creative way, we are able to capture their interest and develop their skills so that they will enjoy the game and become golfers for life. The community of Applecross is filled with youngsters who don’t even know they like golf yet. They just need to be exposed to it in a fun way. In this interactive program, children will develop lasting friendships with other youngsters who are learning to play. Applecross is a great facility for your family to play together with multiple putting and hitting areas. We embrace the opportunity to get your family playing with an entertaining and educative program.

Golf Instruction Features:

  • Innovative classes blending skill building, games and prizes
  • Exposure to the four basic shots in a fun and safe environment
  • Etiquette
  • Basic Golf Rules

All instruction is founded in fun and is communicated in a fashion that resonates with children. Having a great time “doing” golf with their friends, peers and, yes, even their parents, sets the Applecross Golf Academy Little Linkster Program apart from most other programs. Little Linkster Playdates are intended for our youngest players to enjoy this baseline approach which works on Grip/Aim/Stance, purposes and uses of various clubs/ shots/ targets, taking care of the course and discovering how learning golf can actually be fun.  With mandatory “Caddy” involvement and occasional access to on-course play with the “Caddy”, these playdates work on the “team” approach in which each player works together with his/her “Caddy” to learn how to get these future champions started in the right direction. No prior golf experience or equipment is required, just a willingness to “catch the golf bug” in a safe, fun, well-supervised environment. Classes are 1 hour in length.

~ Everyone is encouraged to attend "playdates" as often as
possible since repetition is essential for developing golf skills.

~ We highly encourage girls to participate
in all of our programs!

~ Golf clubs for Little Linkster Playdates are not necessary to participate as they can be fitted properly for US Kids Clubs.

~ Proper dress is required for all participants including parents.
